Böker Vigtig vs. Wild

Two popular streamers in the wild; armed with knives instead of controllers, and surviving on foraged food rather than takeout pizza? It may sound surreal, but it's about to become reality. Trymacs (29) from Hamburg and Rumathra (27) from Bonn will enter the next season of 7 vs. Wild as a team, taking on a grueling 14-day survival challenge in the Canadian wilderness. With a combined Twitch following of over 4 million (Trymacs: 3.4M, Rumathra: 0.7M), and strong YouTube and Instagram presences, the duo represents major voices in the German streaming and gaming scene.

In preparation for this extreme test of endurance (where all gear must fit into a 1-liter Nalgene bottle) selecting the right tools was critical. Together with Rumathra, who visited our Solingen workshop multiple times, we developed a custom knife precisely tailored to the demands of their upcoming outdoor mission.

This special knife is based on the Boker Plus Vigtig, originally designed by Dave Wenger for bushcraft and outdoor use. Its compact dimensions (overall length: 19.7 cm; blade thickness: 4 mm) make it an ideal fit for the Nalgene bottle while still being capable of handling the harshest conditions. For the blade, we selected CPM MagnaCu, an advanced stainless steel engineered specifically for knives. Often praised as a "miracle steel," MagnaCut offers exceptional edge retention, toughness, and impact resistance, while maintaining high corrosion resistance thanks to its 10.7% chromium content and a Rockwell hardness of 61–62 HRC. Combined with a True-Scandi grind and stonewashed finish, the blade is well-equipped for everything from precision carving and fire prep to batoning, chopping, and field dressing game.

To optimize space in the bottle, the handle scales, crafted from green canvas Micarta, were made slightly thinner than in the standard model, without compromising grip, even in wet conditions. A particularly clever feature is hidden within the handle: instead of hollow rivets, two large screws can be removed using a coin, revealing a 14 mm-deep compartment ideal for carrying small survival essentials such as tweezers, tinder, charcoal tablets, fishing gear, or safety pins.

Even in skeletonized form - without the handle scales - the Boker Vigtig vs. Wild, fully made in Solingen, maintains both function and form, proving the adaptability of this special edition. The knife comes with a compact black Kydex sheath and clip for secure carry.
